The picture is of Joan Noyes who tells us

"My sister & I (Joan & Vivien Noyes) were Queens of the Carnival the same year; she the Fairy Queen & I the Carnival Queen. My Father (Harry Noyes) made our crowns & we gave them to the Committee afterwards as they were rather wonderful, truly regal. I can’t find my sister’s photograph & maybe her family have it.

I left the village when I married in 1953, but have many happy memories of my years there.

I now live in Cawsand, near Torpoint & have travelled the world since Stithians days.

We lived in Crellow House which was beautiful, I have a feeling it may have changed somewhat now."

This picture of Show Day is thought to date from approximately 1956. Note the band playing outside the Seven Stars.
